Every morning for the past few days, my car hasn't been starting in the morning. It will make a single click when I turn the key over, and that's it.
I know it's not the battery, as it's fully charged, and the lights don't dim when I turn the key.
I've cleaned the connections to the battery, and it hasn't made a difference.
Here's the weird part, if I boost it, I can literally shut the car off a minute later and it will restart fine, no hesitation.
I'm wondering if the starter bendix is getting stuck when it gets cold overnight [It's been REALLY cold the past two weeks] I took the battery out, after it wouldn't start, put it in my truck and my truck fired up right away with it.
I've taken the cables off the battery and reattached them to ensure a proper ground. It also doesn't seem like a ground issue, because once the car's been booster, it will start no problem all day. Even if you drive it for 5 minutes, then go out and start it 4 hours later.. Fires right up. It's only overnight when it sits for 10+ hours, and it gets really cold.
Before I replace the starter, I figured I'd see if anyone had any suggestions, or could confirm my suspicions.
