My boyfriend and I bought a car from a friend of ours before she left the state to live with family. She couldn't take the car so she sold it to us for cheap. She signed the title and filled out the sellers part. Then she gave us a bill of sale. My boyfriend put himself as the purchaser. Then he found out his license was suspended so he couldn't register the car. So he sold it to our friends across the street. We told them to wait and we would go to the DMV and transfer it to our name then to his. But he didn't. He wrote on the title and purchaser 2. Now the title is useless and the girl who sold it to us is out of the state and the car is just sitting around. How can we go about getting a new title for the car so it can be registered????
