Car tire on my Road King

38 front 42 rear. If I'd get the kind of mileage you say you got outta yours, I wouldn't consider a CT. 14K and still looking good is pretty amazing, compared to mine. Mine has 7,800 now and the center of the contact patch is getting real flat.

Like you said, road conditions are pretty rough up there. I'm sure that has a lot to do with mileage. I haven't ruled out the possibility of a CT when I replace my rear on my new RK. sounds interesting! Been a great thread! Keep the shiney side up Frenchbiker.

Thanks, you too, Man. I never thought I'd be considering a CT for my bike but what friends using them told me and what I read here makes me really interested in trying.

Folks,

I had a great ride today, around Bisbee, Az. I got to the top of Mule Pass early in the morning, with no traffic, and then went downhill. These are some beautiful mountains (to me, lol) I had an awesome time, then went around Ft Huachuca, Az., did a lot of cruising around 80MPH.
Would I consider going back to a motorcycle tire? NO, HELL NO!

Regards,

Any idea what this is doing to the wheel bearings? Maybe I'm uninformed and maybe this has been going on for a while. I've been at the game for over 40 years. I'm all for experimentation and American ingenuity but I can't wrap my head around a tire that ain't made to lean. What do you do at 90 mph when you gotta make that evasive move from something in the road or someone in the road? I've been touring on Harleys for 21 years. I consistently get around 12 to 14 thousand on the rears and that's fully loaded. Seems to me that gaining the advantage of 3 or 4 less tire changes per car tire vs MC tires just ain't enough for me to become a test pilot. I look at 36" from ass to pavement and sorry folks, I just ain't a believer. Just my opinion.

Here you go, maybe this will help you be better informed. Not trying to change your mind or opinion. Just you said maybe you was uninformed and this has been going on for a while. Yes CT's on the rear of motorcycles has been happening for several years now.

Some of those have 70K thousand miles with a CT on the rear.
