Car tire on my Road King

That is why I went to the Honda dealer. They do these things all the time for the GoldWing riders.
About the Insurance company, you are ASSUMING they will not cover it, and making a fact out of it. That is why I said that naysayers arguments don't hold water unless you have TRIED IT. Evidence and documentation of the insurance company denying something.
Skimping on money? another assumption. Reread my original post.

Everybody that subscribed to this thread,

I just did an update on post # 1. Whenever I do an update, say, at 1000 miles, it will be posted there.

Gary,

The right size is 195/60R16. reread post # 1.
Like you, I was sick of the 407 and the lack of traction, horrible ride. You are going for it? good for you! not everybody ventures out of their comfort zone. And you just might get a very pleasant surprise with this car tire deal.

I'm not "making a fact" out of anything. I said.........I WONDER........:

BTW, the local HD and Honda dealers around my area tell me they WILL NOT mount a car tire on a bike rim simply because they do not want to be held liable for any accidents. That's gotta make you wonder, huh?

BTW, THANK YOU for your service! Men like me owe so much to men like you!

that tire looks great on your bike. i'd be concerned with sidewall flex though. i guess with the tire having much less weight on it than a car would put on it, that's where the sidewall flex isn't much of an issue? that's something to consider though when it comes time for another rear tire for my sg. i'm tired of paying out the butt for a motorcycle specific tire when there's nothing really special about them. they likely cost about the same to make as a car tire, but with them being motorcycle specific they figure they got us by the short hairs, it seems. this is a good thread.

Because I thought about getting a 205/55-16. But my rim is 16X5 and that one might have been a little too wide. The 195/60-16 is a really good fit on my rim, though. I am really happy with it.
I suppose you are not going back to a MC tire? lol
