I own a 2002 Honda Civic EX with a v-tech engine.
Within the last couple months, I've noticed that it will randomly start to studder when accelerated to 4000 rpms and won't go any further unless it's shut off for a second or 2. My husband thought it may be a problem with the v-tech kicking in, but my neighbor thinks its something to do with cables or wires.
I'm going on a 1400 mile trip next month and would like to get it fixed before then, however I also would like to know what the problem could be before taking it to a shop. I know how a lot of mechanics work and I don't want to walk in with no idea of the problem just to have them screw me over.
Has anyone had this problem, or does anyone know what it may be and how to fix it??
