Car Stereo Wiring Problem?

Hi,

I have been trying to install a new head unit into my Mum's car, a 1999 Toyota Corolla, and have a problem;

When trying to find the 12V ignition wire, (supposed to be gray according to the schematic), using a test light, I am not getting any signal when turning the accesories on.

I am sure it is not a blown fuse, as I have checked all the fuses (and replaced the one I blew earlier), and the 12V constant is lighting up as it should.

After checking the fuses, and seeing that the constant is working fine, and the earth is fine, I assumed the schematic is wrong and started testing the other wires. None of them light up when the ignition is turned on (I have even started the car to be sure the key is in the right spot).

The only thing left that I can think of is the cable might be broken, however the previous head unit was working fine only hours before, and I can't see any reason for the cable to break.

Do you have any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks for your help.
Thanks for your help, but no, it is not the wrong colour (I have tested all the other wires just in case the schematic was wrong..)
