Car stereo doesn't read over 512songs on USB stick..?

Just wondering if there's a way to get the car stereo to play the rest of the songs on the stick.. there's roughly 600-700 songs on there and it's a 4gb stick. But when selecting a track in the car, it will only go up to 512 and set back to the first track. All the songs work perfectly when the USB is hooked up to the computer.

There are no folders on the USB, only music tracks, all of which are MP3 format. Car stereo brand is Sony and USB brand is it.works (yes maybe a hint of irony in that).

Any information would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
 
its not your radio, its the stick. dont use an actual usb. go to walmart and get a $50 ipod nano that comes with a usb cord. its portable so you can listen to music while youre also out of the car. an actual usb isnt quality for holding music. its all compressed and it wouldnt sound good.
