I just installed a new cd player(VRCD-400) in my car with the same setup that I used for my old one. Both after market with 2 12's, 3 amp's, 4 mid's, and 4 tweeters. I hooked it all up and it plays fine when the car is off. I can turn it up and down and do what ever I want. The weird part is when I turn the car on. The speakers will play for a little bit and then they will shut off. Each time being different length. It's the weirdest thing. It still says its playing but the speakers are completely shut off. Anyone know what to do?? I'm thinking its a safety feature. I think the player is getting to much power when the car is on and thinks its overloading/heating. I really dont know. Its not a wiring problem because its the same wires i used for the old player. Help!!

Souds to me like you got a speaker crossed or hooked up reverse. It happens to the best of us.

I am sorry to say but i think you really have a wiring problem, there is a short circuit going on somewhere. when you start your car the vibration of the car moves those wires up and creates a short. use a meter to locate the problem or simply rewire your speakers
