Go ahead and use it. There should not be a problem. I have a 580 watt RMS amp with one 15 and a Kenwood deck. I routinely use my stereo at moderate plus levels for up to 2 hours at a time, to watch movies at the drive in, with absolutely no side affects. And I like to hear and feel it, if you know what I mean.
But as long as your battery is in good shape and you aren't trying to run more than 1000 watts and you don't really crank it too much, you should be fine. The alternator will recharge the battery as long as you have at least a 15 minute drive from school to allow the electrical system time to recover.
