it sounds like the amp is just getting too hot and switching to protect mode, then it cool down a little and works again till its hot. make sure your amp is in a location where its not "sandwiched" in between something, it needs to be able to let the heat off. hope that helps

HEY, I HAVE A 2007 MUSTANG AND I JUST HAD 2 12CVR SPEAKERS HOOKED UP TO THE FACTORY RADIO, WITH A Rockford Fosgate AMP, I HAVE THE SET UP WORKING WHEN I TURN ON MY LIGHTS THE AMP CUTS ON TO POWER THE SPEAKERS, BUT AFTER 20 MINS OF PLAYING THE SOUND CUTS OFF , THE AMP RUNS REALLY HOT, THEN THE SOUND CUTS ON AGAIN , MY FRIEND TOLD ME THAT IT MAY BE BECAUSE I NEED TO GET A STRONGER BATTERY, BUT I THINK ITS THE AMP, BECAUSE IT RUNS VERY HOT, TO WHERE YOU CANT EVEN TOUCH IT, BUT ANYBODY MAY HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?
