Car Remote not working?

Relisted this question. My car is BMW 3 Series Touring and before some other Smart Alec answers are given. The battery in these fobs cannot be changed. I can open and lock all doors by putting key in and turning but cannot lock/unlock using key fob.
Can some sensible person respond please.
