K, about four months ago, I bought a used 2004 lincoln ls v8 from a dealership in md. When I bought the car I asked specifically if I would havew to do anything with the car after signing to get my title and license plates (I have a witness to this). Both the finance officer and the salesman said no. About a month later, I got a call from their title office saying that I had to fax them a completed title application, copy of ssn, and I had to go get an emissions and state inspection for the car (totaling $46). I bit off the urge to yell at them and went and got the emissions inspection yesterday as I hadn't had time to do it until then. The car failed the test from starter problems, misfiring cylinders, and number 7 cylinder not even firing (I have put 1k miles on it since purchase). Seeing as how I have had the car so short a period of time, and a number of these things should already have been done, should I have to foot the bill for any of this or is it the dealer's job? Also, since technically the lien and title aren't signed over to me yet, is it possible to just take the car back to the dealership and give it back to them fair and square (me taking the hit for the down payment and monthly payments I have made so far) Thanks alot in advance, -SPC Pearson
