It starts after I start the engine, slow and steady. When the car is initially put in drive, it stops. When I reach speeds of 50 mph or more, the shuddering is like a very slow pulse: it comes on strong for a good 5 seconds, then slows and ALMOST disappears for another 5, then repeats the cycle. I am very close to hitting 300,000 miles, and am trying to take better care of my car than the previous owner [it was also previously in a northern state with lots of snow]. I believe I was told it's an engine/oil/brake problem, but I really have no clue. Any ideas? Thanks :]
