i am wondering what a performance chip could do for my 1999 toyota solara (v6 5spd, 3.0L)? i have not bought any other performance parts, although i am hoping to get an Injen Short Ram Intake in the near future. Some other posts said that chips dont work without performance parts installed, others said it can ruin your car's cpu? The chips on ebay boast a boost in horsepower anywhere from 35hp to 130hp, they also say that they improve gas mileage. I just want to know the truth about these chips. So if anyone could tell me if they are worth my money... if so, what brand should i get and about how much should a quality chip cost?
