Car idles low and wants to stall out?

my car idles really low. i have bumped up the idle on it and that didnt do anything. it idles at about 700 or so in park and eventually will stall out if i dont push on the gas. in drive it idles about 500 n will do the same thing as in reverse too. i have a engine light on and it is the evap purge valve could that cause it or is something else causing it?
 
before u go spending money do a good tune-up ,change all filters, spark plugs, wires ,what i mean spending money was about the EGR
Also look for all vacuum hosess
