car help? keeps stalling.?

Ok so every time i start my car (85 monte carlo) the idle picks up and drops a few times then stalls...but if i move it forward and back words it stays running for a few minutes then stalls again. any suggestions is to what it could be? i put a brand new carb in it. still the problems there...theres no check engine light on. and as far as i can tell theres no vacume leaks. the plugs wires and distrib cap are all new. and theres nothing wrong with the Fuel filter its clean. its even got my step father stumped and hes been working on cars for years =/
its getting plenty of fuel, and the Carb is squeaky clean.
deffinately not too much fuel. i had my stepfather ajust it for me before i put it on and had him tweak it when it was on.
 
spark and fuel
1 put pressure gauge on fuel line
2 wires? on right or 1 off
3 new carb..check needle valve and float,,,clean? set right?
 
plenty of fuel ! maybe it,s getting too much fuel and flooding out. make sure the choke is opening up some once you start it. if it,s staying closed adjust the choke pull-off so it can get some air while it,s warming up. what about the cat. converter? maybe it,s starting to clog up. you might want to set the idle up some. when you get a new carburetor they are,nt adjusted.
