I have been looking for a good decent car to get me from point a to point b,i know cars will eventually give problems or that i have to fix lil things here & there...well yesterday i found a car i wanted so i called the owner and asked him if anything was wrong with the car what so ever,if it was clean title & so on...his words exactly were "there is nothing wrong with the car at all" so i took his word for it...his asking price was $3800 & i asked him if he will negotiate & we agreed that 3600 & he said that was the lowest he would go & he said he will not go lower then that...yes it was my mistake to have agreed but once again i took his word on there being nothing wrong with it...well i drove about over 1hr away to go see it..the car looked really nice the interior & exterior were in good condition,& once again i asked him have u had any problems with the car & r u sure there is nothing wrong with it & once again he replied no ... he said he had the car for 2 yrs & never gave no problem...so my dad popped the hood & noticed a lil leakage of oil near the motor & it didnt look to severe & we asked the guy if he knew about it & once again he said he did not know, i asked him if he would negotiate the price because if i were to buy it it would be like $400 to fix it..he kept hesitating but we finally got him to lower it to $3450 because he said he gave me his word on me being the first to buy it thats if i wanted to he seemed like an honest guy...& to find out that this morning i took it to get it smogged & thankfully it passed & i took it to the mechanic & they found three things wrong with it..under the car there are 3 diff areas of oil leaks & to get it fixed the mechanic "estimated" around $600-700 to fix it & the mechanic made me look under the car & showed me that there was a towel shoved under the car to stop the leaks..so the guy who sold me the car knew bout it he was lying all along...im a young college student & i understand i was risking it but i honestly took his word...is there anything i can do about this like complain to him or sue him?i lost my job and all the money i had saved i had to put into the car so im in s ditch where i dont know what to do..i need help
