i drive a 2003 saturn vue. it is a 4 cylinder and 2.2L and i hate the way it sounds. i was hoping to deepen the pitch of it and amplify it a little. is the Thrush Welded Muffler right for it? i also dont care what others think so dont include that. if you know of any other mufflers, please let me know. the most i will spend is $120 but the Thrush Welded is $40. should i get the Thrush Welded? also i have heard that some mufflers save on gas and help increase gas mileage. is this true?

In my opinion, a 4 cyl, even with an exhaust doesn't sound very good. I would upgrade to a car with at least 6cyl if you want any music to your ears.

When it comes to aftermarket mufflers, remember this: Short mufflers are louder then long mufflers. Skinny mufflers are louder then thick mufflers. If you get a short skinny muffler installed, it will be louder. if you get a long thick aftermarket muffler installed, it will be deeper and quieter...Unless you are into racing, stay away from brands and look at the price/ size ratio. Go to a small muffler shop in your area and see what they offer.
