this issue has been driving me nuts, and i already spend hundreds of dollars on it trying to fix it, and i feel like mechanics rip me off whenever i take it to them.. so if you have any history or experience, please help me out.
my 2001 chrysler sebring coupe - heats up when i stay stationary and not moving for more than 3 or 4 mins .. the needle starts jumping up.. however, this NEVER happens when i am driving (only when i am parked and the engine runs) - also, i have noticed that whenevr this happens, and i turn the AC on cold, it goes down and never jumps up again. i turn the AC off, and it goes crazy again. i have also noticed that the fan never starts on unless i start the AC (dunno if this is normal, because it is always off whenever the AC is off)
i changed the thermostat about 20000 miles ago, and checked on the engine coolant, and i never see any leaks under it
.. the car has 87000 miles on it... please help me... is this a water pump ? a fan ? a timing belt ?
