Tonight i was involved in an accident basically i approached a round about and didn't see a cyclist (he had lights but terrible weather) coming from the right hit his back wheel, he ended up cut head and broken collarbone, thankfully his ok, I've offered to pay to repair his bike (hybrid bike ruined back wheel and disk break gears etc) tommorow out of my own pocket to keep it away from insurance company, as my excess it £450.
So my questions are:
If i pay for bike would this be the only cost the insurance people would make?
he didn't have helmet on how does this effect the situation?
Also does he require insurance as haven't asked him?
What would you recommend doing?
