Hi on my car battery one of the poles is nearly all corroded away so now I have to use a vice grips to clamp the connector to the pole to start the car. The battery is very good so I dont want to throw it out. Was just wondering is there any way you can rebuild the pole on the battery by melting more lead onto it or something??

There are shims that are shaped like the battery post available. They slip over the post. Make sure everything is clean and tight when installed.

If the lead shims or smaller clamp doesn't do the trick,
there is a screw-in battery post to convert sidepost style terminals to clamp style. It might be possible to cut off your existing post and then drill and tap the old base to accept the stud of the convertor post.
