Car Audio Question - USB vs CD. vs SD Card?

I'm having my Pioneer double din head unit installed tomorrow and it has a cd, usb, and sd card slot on it.. I don't have an ipod so I have to choose between the other options. Does the connection type I use have any affect on the sound quality? For example, if I put my music on an sd card then put it in my radio, would the sound quality be any worse or better than if i made an mp3 cd with a whole bunch of tracks on it?? thanks
