2000 Ford Contour-
I don't know much about car audio, so my learning starts here I guess.
Basically what has happened is my cd player stopped working. It was an after market Sony snap on CD player (Original to the car when I bought it used). Over time the buttons started not pressing in, and some contacts would engage going over bumps. After this went on for a few months, it just died completely. I keep getting an error and it spits the CD back out. This is regardless of cd type or anything. I've tried it all.
Now, I may have added fuel to the fire because I would get pissed and jam my finger inside of the physical cd player to hold the CD in. But it never worked, I even tried pushing CDs in. So I may have ruined the actual player that sits behind the snap on.
Do you guys think I can just go buy a new CD player interface? Or do I have to probably get the Ford Contour keys to remove and replace the whole thing?
