Ok, so yesterday I bought a brand new Planet Audio amp ( 200x2) says on the amp that it's 2 ohm stable. ok. well, I have a Pioneer 12" sub that's a single voice coil, 4 ohm. In the amp's manual it clearly states that at 4 ohms bridged it will produce 200 watts rms, which is perfect since my sub is rated at 150rms. The problem is the amp gets extremely hot while in bridged mode, but if I only run the sub off of one channel it's only getting 50 watts, states the manual. It still gets warm, but not HOT. .. I've had this issue before and my old Hifonics Crunch amp actually caught on fire, luckily I had it opened up and I hacked loogies on it to put out X_X... I know.. had nothing else lol.
Please help, I don't understand.
