Hi all,
I'm very poor, my 92 Ford Escort broke down and bought a 94 Chevy cavalier that didn't come with a stereo, from the looks of it the radio was stolen because the wires were cut. I took the factory stereo from the Escort and tried putting it in the cavalier using the wiring schematics listed below. there are two Yellow wires so I'm not sure which is which, but I tried both and neither worked. Nothing in the stereo turns on, I thought at first it was a Theft Protection of some sort, but doesn't it have to turn on to set the code? I've checked the Fuses and although there isn't a separate one for the radio, it doesn't look like any are blown, and I made sure to take the neg. off the battery.
Is switching out factory stereos even possible. and if so, what could I have done wrong?
