car audio help want to know if i can do this?

so i need to know if i can hook a sub up to my stock audio headunit i want to buy this one

but i dont really want to change the headunit out since i already have a cd player and radio here is the picture

So no amplifier? You can wire it in to your rear speakers, but you won't be drawing enough power to work the subwoofer, in fact you might damage it not running enough power. The safest scenario for that audio would be unhooking your two rear speakers and hooking up your sub to the left or right hookups in the rear. That way if you have a 200W radio, 100W will be going to your subwoofer.

But, you will get better sound quality leaving your mid-range speakers hooked up. It's not even worth it to hook up a subwoofer without an amp
