I just pulled the door panels off and Im putting in a 6 and a half inch orion door speaker. The hole where the old stock speaker used to be is 6 inches big and I have room to just bolt the speaker straight the door metal. problem is that the old speaker had this plastic case surrounding it which then went to the door metal. Will I ruin the speakers if I just put some wood or cloth between the speaker and the door metal and bolt it in???
