car audio help needed..subs cut off at volume 10?

My 2 12" mmats worked great for about a month and now everytime I turn the radio up they cut off. The amp stays on. I tried getting a capacitor and it helped for about 2 days and now they started doing the same thing again. I un hooked the capacitor and they won't work again. I turned the gain on the amp up and down. Still, they cut out. The battery Gage still says it has a good charge. I have no idea what is wrong. The battery wire is good and the ground wire is also grounded good. All my wires to the radio seem to be good also. I have been working with car audio a while but this totally puzzles me. Any help is needed. I'm going to get a new battery and see if that helps. I have a 1000 watt sony amp that is bridged at 4 ohms I believe. the fuse is good obviously because the amp is on. The truck is a 95 toyota 4runner. Typed all this on my phone. Sorry for grammar but I need some help bad. This is driving me crazy
