I have a MTX TC4002 amplifer running a Rockford T1 12" sub in a custom ported box. I've had many other subs before this one and ran them all off this same amp. With this sub I'm having issues with it overheating and then cutting out after about 10 or 15 minutes of listening. I'm wondering where my problem is. First off I have it wired with 8 gauge, should I use 4 gauge or will that make a difference? I have the amp bridged at 4ohms and the sub wired to 2ohms, is that bad? Should I try wiring it in series to 4ohms?
