car amp and sub help?

i have bought a new car (corsa) ive wired in everything correctly remote wire, ground, power but there is no sound coming out of the sub and no light on the amp
there is nothing wrong with it as it was working befor i connected it up to the new car
my head unit is an alpine CDA-9830R if that helps in anyway
