I got into a car accident where I was liable. Now my question is we decided not to got insurance involved at first because we thought the costs for repairs were not that bad. The other vehicle goes to a body shop to figure out the estimate for the damages for his car about two weeks ago. However it turns out to be a big damage. We decided to file claims to our insurance companies now, after 2 weeks after our accident. Will the insurance company accept our claims after 2 weeks has gone by? Does the body shop (CarStar) send a report to the insurance company? When the insurance company reviews our claims will they find out he has gone to CarStar already or will he have to go there again to get another estimate?
