car accident question?

i was in an accident and have to go to court cause im a minor, and they said i will either have to pay a fine or do community service. i have my license and have never been in trouble with the law how bad of a sentence do you think i'll get
i live in new mexico, USA
it was my fault i was not under the influence of anything and no one was seriously injured
i hit a small sedan
 
Well, this question is too vague to answer. What did you hit? Was it your fault? We need more details to even give you some kind of response. Although, it doesn't seem like community service should be involved... Accidents happen, no one is "punished" for them if they truly were accidents, and drugs/alcohol wasn't involved, and insurance is good.
