I was backing out of a parking lot, and my friend's truck was two spaces over. As I was backing out, my elbow hit the gear shift and put it in drive, I hit the passenger side of the truck bumper and scratched the paint and dented it just a little. She said it was really no big deal since the truck had scratches all over it anyway. She said there was no need to call the police or insurance companies. I offered to pay for the damage, she still said its no big deal. We're both 16 years old. I've had my license for about 4 months now. This is my very first accident. I called my dad and he gave his number to her and said talk to her parents and see what we need to do. My dad's really going to kill me later, so there's no need to post this question, but I will anyway. Do you think what we did was ok? Or did we need to call the insurance company? My car wasn't dented in anyway, just a LOT of paint on the front bumper was worn off and scratched. Like I said, there was already a dent in her bumper and it's scratched all over the place. What should I do? She says I shouldn't worry about the damage, but should I?
