Captain Planet

Another element of Captain Planet we must remember is that Wheeler is always wrong. Because he's the dumbass American and should listen to the more saintly South American, African, Soviet and Chinese children.

You mean "Eastern European"/"Russian" (per the post-fall-of-the-Soviet-Union updated title sequence the show eventually got). ;-)

Wikipedia's page says Phil Collins wrote the Captain Planet theme. That's crap, right? I just can't image Phil Collins sitting down to his piano and composing "Captain Planet, he's a hero, gonna' take pollution down to zero..."

I'll admit to actually... liking the series back when I was little. :o But even then, I still thought the messages, and Ma-Ti's ring, were pretty stupid.

Wheeler is the best character. Mostly cause he's the funniest one. First of all, he's too cool to tuck in his t-shirt. That always made me laugh, even as a kid. Then, he spents more time and engery into hooking up with Linka than the environment. And, finally he's the ridiculous Planeteer. Remember the episode where he goes back to the tough streets of New York? I love how they tried to portray him as a tough guy from the hood. hahaha.

I hate to say it, but that two-part episode was awesome.

Deliverance! Now, Robot Chicken should do a Deliverance/Capt. Planet parody. After violating Kwame and Wheeler, the hicks approach Ma-ti, look at each other, and say, "Naw, there's things even we won't do." In my mind, Ma-ti has always been the Meg Griffin of the bunch.

Same here. Only downside is that it could give the impression that surfers contribute to the downfall of the environment.
