I took the show seriously as a kid... and while I do consider myself an environmentalist, I'm not a wacko extremist.

Also, while I don't agree with everything Greenpeace has done, they're hardly terrorists.
 
If anything, too many people listened to that God awful cartoon.



What Gatchaman had going for it is that the heroes were almost as messed up and mental as the villains.
 
Mostly Joe, but he had enough psycho for 3 shows. Why do you think his Jetman counterpart Gai was so popular?

I'll go ahead and say that they were a hell of a lot more interesting than the Planet whiners, and that's where most team shows have a strength or weakness. If the team is boring, the show fails.
 
Everyone here hate Captain Planet ?

The show is alot helping the enviroment, how else could get kids learn it. I use to it every afternoon.
 
Actually, some Greenpeace members have blown up science labs (over animal testing) and housing/business developments (because trees are cut down to make them).
Yeah, I know most Greenpeace members don't run around blowing stuff up 24/7 (my earlier statement was meant as a joke, obviously). But the ones that are terrorists share the cartoon's philosophy that all people/businesses that do environmentally un-friendly things are evil bastards who get off watching cute animals die.
