I know Toon Zone hates Captain Planet, and hey yeah it was preachy but guess what? If people had actually listened to the show maybe the Earth would not be in its current shape.

So we'll be seeing the over 20 hand picked episodes with a chance of the whole series being uploaded and its not region blocked. Not only that but we get DVD like bonus features. Pretty cool thing.

Why are the Planeteers all punked out in that top picture? And where's Ma Ti? Did the producers not have the heart to include him this time around?

As much as I disliked Captain Planet I still have a special place for it. When I was a kid I used to love watching it just so I can make fun of it. Get a couple of friends together and you'll have a blast!

Nostalgia Critic has bashed good stuff as well besides who is the Nostalgia Critic anyways, he's a nobody with enough fans to have his own website, hardly influential at all.

Those were the concepts for the Captain Planet movie, you can see a video and actually Ma ti got the best re-design but its cut off on that picture.

A nobody? He's a somebody since he appeared in a PBS commercial.

But even when somebody doesn't know or doesn't like the Nostalgia Critic, I still doubt people will listen to a cartoon character with a ridiculous mullet and another one who has the most useless power in any cartoon.

Seriously, if a live action gets made, John Landis should direct, Judd Apatow should write it and they should both envision it as a comedy, a total comedy. Look at the premise, isn't there something hilarious about Captain Planet and the Planeteers?

I was afraid something like this might happen. Hollywood just has to turn all the classics into teen crap (That is not a bad word to use on the forum, is it? My deepest apologies if it is.) nowadays don't they? I will admit I was never that big of a fan of the "Captain Planet" show, but I like it, and I know if they come out with this product, they will ruin the franchise. They will.

The only way I'm watching Captain Planet again is if he screams his name and kicks villains in the groin while doing it.

And if the villain Duke Nukem starts wearing shades, is surrounded by irradiated babes and shouts witty catchphrases like "Hail to the king, baby!" while fighting aliens.

Looks like its time for the second wave of "The environment is KOOL, kidz!". Whats next, the return of widget? Hasbro making a whole new generation of GI Joe Eco-Warriors (this time they'll somehow shoehorn storm shadow into this, just like they shoehorned flint into the original eco-warriors)? Cant you just tell kids how to be environmentally friendly instead of "Always recycle, TO THE EXTREME!!!" messages?

GOLD! The best way to ruin the environment is to show kids Captain Planet. No one would take the environment seriously after seeing that trash. It's not like the show provides any USEFUL advice when it comes to saving the planet.

Oh my God, those movie designs are hilarious! It's like the 1980s and the 1990s got together and puked their most wretched fashions all over the Planeteers! :D

I'd love to see another Captain Planet series. But only if it were modeled after that famous Robot Chicken skit. :p

Are you kidding!? The moral of the average Captain Planet episode was always something along the lines of "logging/hunting/other stuff that makes liberals faint is ALWAYS evil and the people who do said things are simplistic mustache-twirling villains who inexplicably want to destroy the planet they live on just...because".

If all those kids back in the day took Captain Planet seriously; they would have grown up to be smelly Greenpeace terrorists who blow up science labs and housing developments in order to protect their beloved Gaia. :p

Word. Just seeing that green mullet makes me want to litter my neighborhood and leave my car running for a week just to piss Ted Turner off.

Wow, it's sad really but that movie looks more watchable than the show. I mean, the plot, the designs, R. Mageddon are so cheesy it's good. It makes Transformers: The Movie look realistic.

You know, thinking about the RC sketch makes me ask myself why haven't they done a full parody. Then I remember there's nothing left to say about this show that hasn't already been said. Ma-Ti's power sucks. Wheeler is an idiot. Kwame, Linka, & Gi are bland. The villains want to pollute for the sake of polluting. They did episodes covering drugs, AIDS, gang violence, and one that covered the problems in Belfast, South Africa, and the middle east at the same time. That last one got a recap at Random Action Hour, BTW. And CP trembles at the sight of Fu-Man-Chu Hitler.

Just mentioning all that makes me wish I could finish my Deconstructing Captain Planet series in the now dated "Fresh For 2008 Captain Planet Discussion Thingy" thread.

That would require a bump.

Planet's concept is beyond saving. If you gave them armor and weapons instead of an annoying guardian...you'd have Super Sentai.

Actually, the eco-friendly super team concept was done back in the 70's. It was called Gatchaman.
