FANTASTIC !!

Just bought the latest edition of Wizard magazine and there's a poster in the back

John Malkovich will play Red Skull and Bill Paxton is playing Nick fury

No it doesn't say who's playing the Capt :D

I knew Marvel were planning to make a Captain America film but as far as I knew they hadnt announced a director or any cast yet!

Poster in the back of the magazine, release date of 4th july 2009, released through Paramouth, directed by Zack Snyder, written by David S Goyer & David Self and apparently it's getting a PG-13 rating

So I'd say yes :D

EDIT - who the hell are Paramouth ??

I am suprised as Zack Snyder is meant to be directing Watchmen next but maybe he is doing Captain America afterwarRAB as it isnt meant to be released untill 2009!

Okay Motthus - go do your thang - find out for us who the lead contenders for Cap are going to be...

Really hope this is a good one. As a "non powered" (i.e. he doesn't throw around energy bolts or fly or anything like that) kind of character, I think there's a real danger of it being just a naff action movie. So will need sensitive direction and maybe some CG (in the style of a Matrix movie) to make any action sequences stunning.

To be honest I dont believe any of the casting that Matthew007 mentioned from that poster as nothing has been offically confirmed as far as I can find from any movie website on the internet. So maybe this poster is a fan made fake. Although I had heard that they planning to do a Captain America film at some point although no release date had been set but it would be after Iron Man and Hulk 2!
I could be wrong though and this could be 100% offical!

Go buy this months issue of Wizard magazine, it's in the back with the tag-line "The American Dream just woke up"

Surely Wizard wouldn't publish a fan-made fake with Paramount logos on !!

Red Skull HAS to be the villain in this, there is no other way!

Brad Pitt I think would probably fit the role of Captain America.

Cant find anything solid on this movie though.

I cant see how it will be released on 4th July 2007 when on Superherohype.com they stated this about the progress about the Captain America film on April 26th:

"The article also states that Captain America will not likely be the first film out of the company's financial deal with Merrill Lynch (Paramount would distribute the films):

Hollywood insiders say Arad had hoped to make Captain America Marvel's debut film. But that's not happening; Arad says he couldn't line up the director he wanted until 2009. Moreover, two films Arad now says could be among those first out of the gate, the Hulk sequel and Iron Man, aren't covered by the Merrill loan, which means Marvel will need another way to finance them."

So it may be Zack Snyder could be directing but no production will be started untill 2009 at the earliest!

Also David Self has been signed up to write Captain America though but it appears Nick Fury will appear in his own film and not in Captain America!

Here is Marvel upcoming films as announced by Marvel Entertainment on May 4th:
