I hate it. Everythign we do revolves around money. We went to wars over this shit, and we don't make the right decisions all because of the corrupting nature of money. Were taking out war out on Iraq because we want to earn money, and we are letting the Saudis fuck with us to keep our money.
The only thing that we have for free is our body. But we sell our body everyday by working. If were not careful, our ties will choke us to death. All this does is make the rich richer and the poor even more poor.
For some reason, America is very defensive about Capitalism. Their main argument is that greed makes everybody benefit. Wrong. 5 percent of America owns 95 percent of its wealth. Additionally, how the hell will you know? Its not like the poor have any voices in this country. Sure the "average" American may be rich, but that argument is nulled by the fact that the multibillionaires are balanced out by the poor people. If there were less poor people, then the average American would be considered rich.
Capitalism is brainwaishing us. Democracy is just a fascade, its the rich corporations who make all the decisions. It seems like America is a land of opportunity, where the poor can become rich based on merit. But since the rich have so much power, they naturally will want to hold on to their power. Notice how univesities are getting more expensive when their size remains the same, and how exclusive and elite they are getting. This example has been seen many times, corrupt pre-enlightenment monarchs making universities accecible only to the aristocracy.
America is becoming backwards. Capitalism works when there is a big pie to share, but as greedy people consume the pie, there is less of it. The only solution is to make more pies, which is impossible unless we colonize more planets.
