I'm an architecture student and my design calls for cantilevering rooms.
Visual aid (in words)
Main core (12' x 12') holds a cantilevering room that is (20' x 40')
The room and the core meet at the corner.
How could I make this structurally safe?
The room is 40' above the ground. I do not want to use pilotis. Suspension cables are an option. I would like to use Beams/Trusses.
If it helps, the walls are 1 foot thick for both the core and the room.
Thank you.
