Can't we move the Obama debate to the next level?

OK, so I get it:
*Obama's speeches are sometimes vague, but his policy proposals are actually pretty specific. So do your homework and no more questions about how unspecific he is.
*Yes he's only been in the Senate for one term. But that was a pretty good term and this still doesn't mean his policy ideas are bad. So, lets discuss those.
*Yeah, his preacher has said foolish things. Obama has denounced those and taken a decidedly different tone and approach. So, rather than doing the whole 'guilt by association' thing, let's actually talk about Obama's policies.

In this spirit, let's talk about one of his policies in particular:
He wants to make the Chief of the National Guard a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. I have a problem with this policy idea, anyone want to discuss it or stick to the tired old red herrings?
I'm not wishing anything away. I just want to talk about actual policies for a little bit. We can talk about all the dirty money all you want later. But lets at leas decide whose policies are best first...then move onto corruption. It seems we do it backwards.
My problem, Jean-Jacque (no wait just Rousseau), is that the National Guard should be on domestic duty. It seems that making them a problem of the Joint Chiefs results in them continuing their international involvement. I'd prefer a policy that said the National Guard will stay home and not be a part of the international engagement decision-making process. But thanks.
Making them a part of the JCofS means their international deployment will continue. That's something I don't want.

The Problem: The excellence of our military is unmatched. But as a result of a misguided war in Iraq, our forces are under pressure as never before. Obama will make the investments we need so that the finest military in the world is best-prepared to meet 21st-century threats.
Strengthen Guard and Reserve: Obama will restore the readiness of the National Guard and Reserves. He will permit them adequate time to train and rest between deployments, and provide the National Guard with the equipment they need for foreign and domestic emergencies. He will also give the Guard a seat at the table by making the Chief of the National Guard a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

what is your issue with this. Can you elaborate? thank you

I don't see why making the Chief of the National Guard a member of the JCS would be a big problem. The National Guards of various states have been strained by repeated deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan which hampers their abilities to effectively deal with problems at home, like natural disasters, something which no state is immune from, so perhaps the National Guard havinga voice in the JCS would be a good thing.

The next level is Tony Rezko's corruption trial. Obama took money from this thug and only denounced him on Friday, the same day he finally kicked out his pastor from his campaign advisory circle.

You can't just wish this away. It isn't GOING away.

dont worry most people on here cant vote

the MAJORITY OF AMERICANS WHO DONT GO ON THIS FORUM will vote obama

Yeah but his policies are short on specifics and a lot of people like this debate right where it is right now. I mean this guy is running for our President and this divergence, I would call a pretty severe lapse in judgement. I think this needs to be vetted out before we toss him the keys to the big house. I personally don't want someone who hates the country running it.

I have a problem with the Global Poverty Act, it will really promote poverty worldwide.
