Can't take a decent macro shot with an N73

how do u guys take a decent macro shot with an N73, it seems that when i turn it to macro mode, the lens wont focus, instead, i have to slowly press the cam button and then when the lens focus then i fully press the cam button to take a shot?, anybody else in the same boat?

The N73's camera button is a two-phase button. Pressing slightly causes the lens to automatically focus, pressing completely triggers the shutter. So you're doing it correctly.

No just kidding. Make sure you aren't too close to the object other wise it won't focus. Sometimes I have to be about 3-4 inches away from an object to focus correctly.

I always wait for the box to go green and hear the OK sound before taking a picture.

Except sport mode, there's no green box.

Lol are you serious? The shutter release on my W810 was also 2 function shutter, halfway for focus, fully for shutter release.

Aw! Well now you know. For ALL picture you take, macro or not, halfway down to focus, all the way down to snap. Your pictures will come out WAY better from now on.
