Can't sync to Mac

Aren't there any suggestions for the problem of not being able to sync at all to Mac OS X? The computer just does not recognize the sync request. Nothing happens. It works if I do a hard reset and used to work after several soft resets, but now that won't. Works on my PC at home. Any suggestions very welcome. Thanks.
 
A while back someone posted a similar problem. They then found that the device won't sync when the cable is plugged into the keyboard USB port.

The cradle has to be plugged into a port located on the desktop computer itself. Hope this helps.
