Can't remember the book name?

I read an amazing book years ago - but the name I remember doesn't seem to show up anywhere.

I thought the title was along the lines of Exodus or Exodius...

It was basically about the future and what global warming done to the world and how one of a few island of people set out to find others and stumble upon something called a sky world. Something like that anyways, I'm not too sure. Anyone know the name and author?
