Can't reinstall Media Center OS on Dell Desktop.?

I just had it with my computer crashing all the time and giving me errors. So I've decided to reinstall the OS. So I put the disc in and restart... press F12 to boot up from the disc, and everything seems to be loading up just fine, but then it gives me a BSOD and asks me to do CHKDSK /F to resolve any errors. I reboot the computer and after windows loads i go cmd>chkdsk /f, but it tells me the drive is being used and that it will be checked at reboot. When it starts performing the chkdsk it goes to the BSOD all over again.
Is there another way to restore to factory setting?
I want to use the CD, but it just won't let me. Is there a way to force the install?

Is your computer an OEM? (Bought of the shelf already built) If so then you probably have no choice but that CD.

If your dell has a section of the hard drive called "Recovery" then you can try going to set up options and choosing a Factory Reset.
