Can't read beamed file.

Hi all,
I'm beaming a file from my Pocket Pc to my employee's Palm Tungsten T5. The Palm is "receiving" the file but it's giving her a message that it is an unrecognized format. The Palm has Docs to Go installed. What else does she need to do?
Thanks
Gary

What type of file exactly are you trying to beam? What version of Docs to Go is on the T5?

I'm assuming you are trying to beam a Pocket Word or Pocket Excel file. This won't work with a Palm and Documents to Go version 7.x. DTG reads Office file in their native PC format. The PPC uses a different format that requires conversion by ActiveSync. You would have to e-mail her the Office file in the native PC format before it could be used with DTG.

Jim is right. It is possible to beam native files from a Palm device to a Pocket PC, but not from a Pocket PC to a Palm.

Pocket PCs don't use native document formats unless the device is running Windows Mobile 2003.

When older Pocket PC models receive native MS Word and Excel files, they convert them to a special Pocket Office format. Unfortunately, they don't convert them back to their native file format when beaming to another PDA.

I do have Pocket PC 2003 and I see I do have the option of saving in another format within the Pocket PC as Kgas mentioned. I'll try that and give it a go again on Monday.
Thanks again.
Gary
