Cant play songs in ipod touch connected to car stereo?

Hello. I have connected my ipod touch to my car stereo using a cable having white and red sockets at one end which goes into AUX ports on the rear side of my stereo player and other side having 3.5 mm jack which goes into my ipod. After this connection when i play songs in ipod I cannot hear the songs through car speakers. Do i need to do any setting or any other procedure. Thanks

i would check with CarToys....they helped me when my radio did exactly that same thing....

Depending on the make and model of the radio the rca jacks on the back are usually for output only not input.
