Can't install vNES or vSUN on Nokia E62 - General E62 gripes/wonderments

When I try to install the above mentioned apps on my E62 I either get a certificate error or installation not supported error. So is the E62 a bad call for someone like me who wants to install lots of Symbian apps that I didn't buy from Cingular. I'm new to S60 - appreciate the help!

On another note, I noticed that the E62 can't play a short video clip that my Sony Ericsson K790a can play just fine. It's a shame because of the wonderful display on the E62. Am I out of luck in terms of video as well?

On yet another note, I constantly get bad gateway errors or other such connectivity errors when attempting to download installation files for S60 apps from the web. Yet they download just fine from the same URLs on my mac. Frustrating.
 
you have to turn off the app checking thing, it is under settings then app mgr and hit options then there is something that only allows signed apps, make that say all

as far as videos go it just depends on what format they are in, there is a great app called super that can convert videos and you can convert it to the proper format for the e62

2) I also recommend Super for use with the built-in RealPlayer.
3) I always download apps from my PC then transfer them to my phone, so I'm not sure. Sorry....
 
Thanks guys, that app configuration definitely made a difference in my life. I appreciate your help. Could you attempt to hit the following URL from your E61s and see if you are able to start the download. I get the "no gateway response" error when attempting it.

For what it's worth, vnes.sis still said installation not supported, but Vampent actually sent me a s60v3 version of vnes that installed fine.

I will definitely check out that Super app. Thanks again.
 
I've got to the link - downloaded it and installed, however when launched it game me an expiration error, stating to download the latest version??
