Can't get my pc to recognize hdd from ps3 as external hdd?

I just changed my hdd in my ps3 and I wanted to use my old hdd as a external hdd. So I bought a enclosure and hooked it up to my pc and it won't recognize it at all. The green light comes on and I hear the hdd running but nothing pops up on screen can't find it under my computer or the disk management. PLEASE help!!!!
