I just received my 6700, I am set up to use it on Cricket. But, I can not get it to sync with my PC. The program recognizes it and tries to sync, but it just says "receiving settings" and will continue that for hours, with nothing else happening.

I am using Active Sync 4.5.

This really isnt a cricket related question you will get a better response from the AUDIOVOX forums. PLus this has been disscused before in many other threaRAB.

Yeah, after I posted on here I thought that. Do you have any links to to the many threaRAB you are talking about????

soft reset your phone.

Open activesync in your phone and make sure it's set to connect via USB.

If all else fails, figure out where to download activesync4.2 or 4.0 and try that. I'm not sure if you can get them from MS, but they're all over the web.... In fact, you've probably got 4.2 on the CD's from your phone.

Make sure your firewall is set to allow activesync access.

It sync'd fine at my house, so the problem is most likely in your computer and/or activesync software.

Most 6700's does this at some point. Try one of the following or a corabination:

Soft reset your phone
Hard reset your phone
Turn off your data services and then try to connect
Check allow data service and ActiveSync in the options of ActiveSync on your CPU
Trouble Shoot
Redo your hardware settings on your CPU in your hardware list.
Connect via Bluetooth or Infared (Slow but connects)
Download Windows Mobile 6 if you have Vista, this never fails for me, even if ActiveSync is not working correctly on my other CPU.

Hope one of these work.

I do not have an authentic version of windows (bought me PC form a shady, now out of business store) so, I can not use OE on my PC. I am pretty sure that is why I can not sync (no OE).

^ Nope that's not the case. As My other PC operating system is no where near Authentic. I'm running Black Edition and I still download Windows Products, and connect via ActiveSync.

I am not condoning wrongful activities.

Heheheh ditto on the "backup" version of windows... I've been able to sync on several machines that have that lovely "windows genuine advantage" spyware popup..

ok so this is kind of an old thread and im hoping i can get some help..
i just recently switched to WM6 on my 6700.. now i've been having this problem even when i was still on WM5, but sometimes my phone will connect through USB.. sometimes it wont.. usually the orange led will come on and stay on and i'll hear the connect sound that active sync makes when it recognizes the phone and is connecting. now here's the problem.. most of the time which is about approx 60-75% of the time im trying to connect through usb the orange light will stay on for a couple seconRAB then just turn off and my computer wont recognize anything. im using active sync 4.5 on windows xp pro. i went to utstarcom's website and downloaded Active Sync Mode and installed the cab on my phone...right after that it synced which was probably about 20 minutes ago so i know it can connect to my computer but something happens when i disconnect it and try to reconnect it. Might i add i have been doing internet sharing from my phone so it disconnects and reconnects usb right away without having to unplug it.. but it has to be recognized by active sync before i can do this.. I dont really want to have to do a hard reset on my phone again seeing is how i just did about 4 or 5 days ago. I've disabled the data connection on my phone while trying to connect usb, reset my computer hardware settings as best i could without screwing anything else up, taken the battery out for a shut-down reset...even reset my desktop computer and reconnected through usb.. sometimes (rarely), but sometimes this does work to connect it... but its a long shot. any other suggestions? i dont wanna do a hard reset unless i ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO.. those take up about an hour and a half of my time sooo...yeah..
