I am almost 16 years old and I have dirty blonde hair. I'd like to color it a little darker but my parents are totally like ""No WAY!" I've asked several times and they always so no without giving me a reason. So, i calmly ask why I can't and they send me to my room. I've asked if I can try a temporary dye and got the same result. I've also tried "Can I dye my hair purple? (i never would) No?

Also I've tried the whole "mom, I've had straight A's all year" thing. When my mom was a teenager, she had every color and hairstyle you could possibly dream up. She was a bad kid. I'm thinking that maybe she just doesn't want to see me go down the same road. But Im not asking for something rebellious or outlandish. I'd just really like the opportunity to try new things. I've the about just dying it anyways, but my parents threatened to take away my phone, makeup, hair straightener, and social life. and possibly shave off the colored hair. I'm staying calm and not blowing up to show them that i am mature. Also, i help around the house as much as possible . . . Anyways, I'm extremely frustrated. Please help. And please give me a thorough and somewhat intelligent answer.
